SKirmish

The Skirmish is a unique way to start the game, determining each player's role as attacker or defender. Each player rolls 1 or 2 dice, depending on whether they want a low or high number. The player with the highest roll takes the attacking role, while the player with the lower roll becomes the defender.

Attacking Player

During the setup phase, the Attacking Player places their Battlefield Conditions card in their designated spot on the game mat and takes the first turn. Battlefield Conditions cards allow you to choose the time or weather of the battle.

Defending Player

During the setup phase, the Defending Player places their Defending Location card in the designated spot on the game mat and takes the second turn. Defending Location cards let you decide where the battle takes place.

Notes

Most players won't be able to attack until turn 4 or 5, depending on the Battlefield Conditions. This gives you time to prepare for battle and defend yourself.
